Born from frustration with broken mobile stores
In 2021, our founders Kenji and Yuki were leading mobile product teams at Japan's largest fashion retailer. They watched millions of yen in revenue evaporate every day because the mobile experience was simply unusable.
Buttons too small. Checkout flows that required fifteen taps minimum. Product images that took 8 seconds to load. Filters hidden three menus deep. They knew this was fixable — not with more technology, but with better design thinking.
mobux was founded to bring rigorous, research-backed mobile UX methodology to eCommerce teams who don't have the luxury of large internal UX teams. We've since grown to 24 specialists across Tokyo, Singapore, and London.
Every member of the mobux team has a background in either UX research, mobile engineering, or eCommerce conversion optimization. We don't do general digital design — only mobile commerce, and only with depth.
